Don Fobian began his career in dispute resolution while he was earning his Juris Doctor degree at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He was an ADR Specialist at the San Diego Mediation Center for over 7 years. The next several years, Don worked at the La Jolla Center for Dispute Resolution. He has mediated several hundred cases in a wide variety of subject matter. He has arbitrated for the NASD and Contractors State License Board, as well as acted as arbitration administrator for DeMars & Associates, a business that handles Lemon Law cases.
Don and Alexis Dixon have done extensive work with the San Diego Police Department and co-teach a course at SDSU’s Extended Studies program called Use of Mediation in Police Work.
Don also teaches in SDSU’s Criminal Justice Program and Chapman University’s Human Resources program. He has been teaching in the undergrad and graduate programs for over 13 years. He has also been involved in the training of mediators and arbitrators.
Don has been a member of the California Dispute Resolution Board of Directors since 2000 and was President of that organization in 2007. He has also been a board member of ADR San Diego, a local group of ADR professionals.
